Harborist was founded in 2017 by visual effects artist Kate Porter, who became frustrated that the products that most suited her families sensitive, allergy-prone skin were often the least enjoyable to use. And because sensitive skin claims are poorly defined, choosing the right skincare was stressful.
By harnessing new mildness testing technologies, Harborist brings guaranteed gentle-as-water skincare while still including the innovative plant and biotechnology-based ingredients that make skincare enjoyable. Our award-winning super senstive Balm-Gel cleanser launched in 2017. Since then, Harborist has featured in publications such as BBC Science Focus, the Financial Times and Harpers Bazaar.
Behind the scenes, Kate continues to work with scientists and labs with a mission to bring more options for your sensitive skin.
